Monosum is a live sound and visual collaboration between Diarmuid and Dara. They have been producing electronic music separately for around ten years now. They have recently joined forces to incorporate both styles of their music production. Their combined sound takes a journey through downtempo, ambient, dub and trip hop styles. Their set is performed on the fly with wired up laptops, midi controlling hardware and effects.
Dara has been playing live gigs around the country for the last year under the name Dubreak. He has released an LP on the Northern Ireland netlabel 'Electrotoxic' and his music has been played around the globe, from US college radio stations to BBC's Radio one. Diarmuid DJ's and produces many styles of electronic music under his own name and under a separate collaboration called Samas. He has worked as a Music Technology trainer for four years and has recently enrolled into a "Masters in Creative Music Technology" near Bristol, UK, which is due to start later this year. Both musicians have had an unhealthy obsession with the Irish Electronic Music scene since the early 90's.
