Barry Murphy has been producing electronically-arranged music of one form or another since the early 90’s and under the name of The Last Sound since 1997. Influenced by out-there rock as much as electronics, The Last Sound's music often takes unexpected turns. The highly praised album B'locks appeared in 2002 on Warp-approved Dublin label Front End Synthetics, and a collection of material from 1997-2001 called Skids was released in 2004. His music has appeared on several compilations and plays live with alarming regularity, including past supports to Damo Suzuki, EAR, Scorn, Lackluster and Ambulance among others.
Barry also co-runs Irish electronic label Go Away Recordings.Two new albums, Frieze and 1mEyes are due shortly on Go Away Recordings.
